Social Media Digital Marketing with Power BI

Power BI is for what?

Power BI can visualize large sets of data and is particularly useful in digital marketing. The “BI” stands for Business Intelligence. In digital marketing, you don’t just post something and become rich overnight; it takes time and attention to detail—and, most importantly, observation of previous behavior.

Why I taught myself Power BI…

Power BI can be used to analyze website traffic, sales, growth, and identify areas that may not be performing well. You can correlate different types of data, such as business reviews, whether they are 1 out of 5 stars or 2 out of 5 stars, and determine the standard deviation among customers, helping us to see if all customers rated the business with a low rating or if it was just a few odd people having a bad day. We can also use functions in Power BI to make calculations for datasets seamlessly.

Without Power BI you might not know what you’re fumbling

You may be wondering, “Why did sales drop?” or “Why did users bounce immediately off my site?” With Power BI, all of these questions can easily be resolved when you place your data into the query editor. First, you clean the data—removing information from your dataset that you would deem “redundant.” Click apply, and you are able to create various kinds of graphs easily, allowing you to understand the big picture.

Why waste money on ads for the wrong people? Power BI helps you identify the demographics that are genuinely interested in your service.

Marketing Analytics

Power BI lets you analyze social media analytics easily. Nowadays, social media is the bread and butter for any small business—literally, you need to post all the time now so people don’t forget to visit your small business instead of going to a larger corporation. By leveraging advanced features like visual dashboards and detailed reporting, you can gain invaluable insights into customer behavior and engagement trends. This helps you tailor your marketing strategies to meet the specific needs of your audience, ensuring that your content resonates effectively. Moreover, consistent interaction on these platforms not only enhances brand visibility but also builds a loyal community around your business, encouraging repeat visits and fostering long-term customer relationships. In the ever-competitive landscape of small businesses, staying active and informed through tools like Power BI can make all the difference in sustaining growth and success in the digital age.

Integration of Data

You may need to use a third party to collect social media data as a whole and integrate it into Power BI, such as Windor.AI; unfortunately, this could end up being costly, especially for a small business, as the standard plan is $118 a month. To resolve the price issue, you can use a CData Power BI connector, which requires a bit of technical ability, but it is useful in the sense that you can work with live and recent Instagram analytics.

You’re on Track

With Power BI you know have direction. You can discover the problems in your business which is the first step to fixing them. Power BI isn’t boring. Power BI is fundamental to the success of your business! So what are you waiting for? Get loading those CSV files into Power BI!
